iPod was sold as good condition, however it is not usable since the battery is dead.
Some people chose to paint their old case to make it unique. In any case you should see a longer play time with a CF Card than the factory hard drive. For more information do a search on iPod Mini Modifications Batteries, CompactFlash. I'm about to install a 32GB Card, but I may wait a while until 64GB cards are commonly available. Also, mod kits are available here on Amazon and also on eBay. Parts are freely available. I plan to try and shoe horn a second battery into this device. The second generation Mini's will run longer on a charger. This is the smallest iPod that allows you to change out the 4 or 6GB hard drive for a CompactFlash card.
Many people already have installed up to 16GB CF cards. Finally, if you case gets a little beat up, and these all metal cases can take a beating it is cheap and easy to replace the case ~$15 with shipping for a new one--any color. The adapters cost less than $4. Also the size CF card you install will also effect play time. Keep your Mini alive and looking good. What this means is you can install any size CF card in this device.
A larger capacity battery will extend your playing time between charges.
THanks for fulfilling a childs Christimas wish. We were unable to get her a new one, but this one was exactly what she wanted, ("a blue ipod that I can see the songs on"). The Miranda Family We gave my 10 year old daughter Dorian this Ipod for Christmas. (From mom and dad not santa). She loves it, and has had it on every day since (not in school).
But everything seems to be working fine and I didn't feel like sending it back before xmas because it was a present. prodcut was shipped quickly, so quickly they sent the wrong color. I ordered a blue one and they sent me a silver one.
It's now 2008 and she's still running like new. Finding parts for my Mini are getting to be a bit of a hassle nowadays, but if I can find universal parts it works well. She's sitting right next to me charging.
I've managed to upload cds, even cracked cds onto this Ipod. The only parts I need are cords (if this one breaks, hasn't yet) or the FM Tuner. Thanks Apple for a great product. Unlike burning cds, it transfers them minus the skipping; so I basically get my cds on here in brand new condition again.
I have the gorgeous blue, 2nd Generation Ipod Mini. I paid $350.00 new for this Ipod Mini back in 2005, and it was the best $350.00 I've ever spent. Beats the Zune by a mile, without unauthorized credit card charges for the Zune Pass, courtesy of Microsoft.
Many warned me when I purchased this unit back in 2005, that the battery would crash and burn. I do not have a need for video, photo uploads, or other unnecessary technological advancements that Apple has to offer for the "new" Ipods.
